Cryptozoology is the research in to the existence of creatures from mythology or folklore.

The creatures are referred to as cryptids, hence the study of these creatures being called cryptozoology.

There are many different creatures across the world that people believe to exist and they make it their mission to find these creatures and evidence to prove it.

The most famous cryptid is a human-ape like creature.  In North American culture it is known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch.  Interestingly there are other cultures across the world who claim to also have seen human-ape like creatures, in the Himalayas for example where they refer to the creature as the Yeti.

The Loch Ness Monster, a dinosaur like creature, in Scotland is the UK’s most famous cryptid.  Interestingly there are other reports of creatures like Nessy from across the world,  like Champy in  Lake Champlain, USA.

The Chupacabra, a bizarre spinney  vampire-like creature from Puerto Rico, is said to drain its livestock victims of their blood.

There are a  huge amount of potential cryptids, and it is a very interesting subject to look in to further for those interested.
